Ariihau, Maupiti's local guide

A passion for sharing

Turquoise lagoon of Maupiti in French Polynesia - manta ray snorkeling on an Arii Tours excursion

Sharing the Polynesian
way of life

Arii Tours Maupiti offers boat tours on Maupiti's lagoon and around its motu islets. Manta ray snorkeling, coral gardens, stops on secluded motu: each outing has its own rhythm and its own discoveries.

Maupiti is one of the least visited islands in French Polynesia. The lagoon remains intact and its waters teem with life. Tours are run in small groups, the contact is direct, and nothing is rushed.

You leave with a genuine, one-of-a-kind experience that will stay with you forever.

Our values

Three commitments that define every Arii Tours tour.

🌊

Authenticity

Every tour is a unique experience, guided by someone who has known this island all his life.

🌿

Respect for nature

No touching corals, respectful distance from wildlife, limited group sizes to protect the most fragile sites.

🀝

Cultural sharing

Passing on Polynesian knowledge: cultural activities, legends, and genuine exchange are at the heart of what we do.

Meet Arii

Ariihau, local guide born on Maupiti, founder of Arii Tours Maupiti - lagoon tours in French Polynesia

Arii Temarii

Certified local guide in Maupiti & founder of Arii Tours

My name is Ariihau, Arii to everyone. Born in 2001 in Maupiti, I grew up on this lagoon. I know its passes, its depths, its fishing spots and its legends.

I started running tours because I wanted people to see Maupiti the way I see it, not as a backdrop. I talk about my culture, about life here, about how we have always organized ourselves around the sea.

This is my island, and I am happy to share it with you.
